Production Designer

Location: 1060 East Tabernacle Street, St. George, Utah
Schedule: Part-time or full-time
Pay Range: $16–$22 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, positive, and efficiency-focused Production Designer to join our design team at our 1060 location. This role is crucial in managing the flow of quick-turn design jobs, focusing on delivering fast and accurate design work while maintaining clear communication with production and other departments. The goal is to streamline processes and help ensure that designs move seamlessly from the design board to the production floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review incoming design jobs and prioritize based on urgency and workflow guidelines (Rush > Approvals > Redesigns > New Jobs).

  • Manage a steady volume of jobs, aiming for a 24-hour turnaround with a focus on 12-hour completion for simple jobs.

  • Execute design adjustments, minor edits, and basic layout work based on existing templates and branding guidelines.

  • Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are production-ready, identifying potential issues that could slow down the next steps in manufacturing.

  • Collaborate with other departments to identify workflow improvements and contribute input on how to streamline processes for better overall efficiency.

  • Communicate regularly with customer service and sales to clarify job requirements and resolve any missing assets or unclear instructions.

  • Maintain accurate time tracking and job status updates in ShopVox to support workflow transparency and accountability.

  • Actively participate in weekly design and production meetings to align on process improvements and turnaround expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interest in the production side of design, with a willingness to learn and support production processes.

  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude and a desire to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Effective communication skills to work with internal teams and clarify job details.

  • Previous experience in production design or quick-turn design work preferred.

What We’re Looking For:
This position is ideal for someone who is both detail-focused and efficiency-driven—someone who enjoys working on a variety of design projects and is motivated to find ways to streamline workflow processes. If you’re eager to learn the next steps in sign manufacturing and want to play a key role in ensuring smooth transitions from design to production, we’d love to hear from you.
