Culinary Intern
mail me directly at kitchen@deerhillexpeditionas.You will be cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner for school age kid groups from across the country. Some cooking experience required, some training provided. Ninja-like knife skills are a plus! Most meals are prepared from scratch and some baking skills are necessary. Deer Hill accommodates a wide variety of dietary preferences so some knowledge of vegan/vegetarian cooking is great.
Group size range from 10 participants (low) to 60 participants (high). Room, board and pro deals on outdoor gear are also included in compensation package. Shared living accommodations are with like minded people. Pictures of the living space are available upon request.
Culinary Intern Summer 2026
Overview:
● 7-8 interns live and work on site at Deer Hill for the season.
● Responsibilities include: cooking and baking meals from scratch, food preparation and packing, upkeep and cleanliness of the kitchen.
● Weekly schedules vary to accommodate programming needs.
Dates: June 1st - August 15th
Qualifications:
● 20 years of age minimum.
● Able to work legally in the United States.
● Ability to pass criminal background checks.
● Able to carry 50 pounds.
● Able to commit to the duration of the internship.
● Able to live and work cooperatively with others.
● Effective communication with people different from themselves.
● Willing to work long hours.
● Ability to take initiative and produce results
● Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Deer Hill Expeditions.
● A willingness to learn new cooking techniques.
