Founding Startup CEO

 

Founding CEO (Equity-Only to Start) — ShapeMint

Location: Remote (US-friendly time zones; Dallas/Fort Worth welcome)

Type: Founder role (initially equity-only; salary post-funding or revenue)

Start: ASAP (part-time 10–20 hrs/wk for first 90 days; path to full-time)

 

 

About ShapeMint

ShapeMint turns prompts or photos into manufacturable 3D models (STL/OBJ you own), pulls instant multi-vendor 3D-printing quotes, and ships. Currently building out ability for users to deploy their own branded storefronts with one click. The core product is built and live. CTO + dev team are in place; we’re incubating the company and now seeking a Founding CEO to lead go-to-market, partnerships, and fundraising.

 

 

The Role

Own the business side from 0→1: define strategy, win early customers and vendors, and prepare the pre-seed. You’ll be the public face of ShapeMint, operating alongside the CTO and engineering.

 

 

What You’ll Do

GTM & Revenue: Define ICPs, pricing/packaging, and pipeline; close pilot logos and paid contracts.

Fundraising: Craft the narrative, metrics, and materials; run a targeted pre-seed process.

Ops & Metrics: Stand up CRM, funnel dashboards, OKRs, and lightweight ops (quotes → POs → fulfillment).

Brand & Story: Own external storytelling, case studies, and demo assets; represent ShapeMint with customers and investors.

Team & Culture: Collaborate tightly with the CTO; help scope future hires (e.g., COO/GTM lead) post-funding. Manage and run dev teams. 

 

 

You Are

A builder-operator who has led GTM or fundraising at an early-stage tech startup (marketplace, B2B SaaS, or tools).

Proven at closing pilots/POCs or raising pre-seed/seed.

Comfortable operating equity-first with standard vesting/cliff; motivated by meaningful ownership.

Excellent communicator who can switch between founder sales, partner management, and investor storytelling.

Available 10–20 hrs/wk initially; willing to move to full-time post-funding.

 

 

Nice to Have

Exposure to 3D printing/additive manufacturing, CAD, or hardware prototyping.

Marketplace experience (supply acquisition, quality, pricing/SLAs).

Early ops tooling (HubSpot/Salesforce, Notion, metrics, lightweight QA).

 

 

Compensation

Founder-level equity (meaningful ownership; standard 4-year vesting with 1-year cliff).

Salary begins post-funding or revenue.
