Youth Pastor Job Description
Part-Time, Negotiable | Scalable to Full-time
*Position reports to Christian Education Committee and Ministry & Oversight Committee
Role:
The Youth Pastor has a passion to shepherd, lead, and encourage youth and their families. They feel strongly about presence in the lives of young people and leading them to Christ. They organize and schedule the youth ministry. They know how to get on the youth’s level and be a little fun, silly, and goofy while guiding the young people toward Jesus.
Qualifications and Position Requirements:
- Keep strong Christian counsel
- Possess strong leadership skills
- Well organized, Creative, Administrative
- Networker/ Connector
- Ability to rally volunteers
- Ability to communicate effectively (to children and adults)
- Communicates and keeps connected to parents
- Work well with teams
Responsibilities:
- Weekly
- Youth Group scheduling and communications
- Curriculum Preparation
- Go Team Huddles
- Events
- First Sunday Gatherings
- Graduate Recognitions (6th, HS, College)
- Quarterly Connect Families and Family Fun Nights
- FFC Youth Go Team Trainings
- Community Outreach
- School lunch visitations
- Assist with Youth for Christ and FCA
- Present at community events, youth sporting, and extracurricular activities
- Coaching and leadership is encouraged
- Families
- Maintain consistent relationships and connections with youth and families
- Support new believer needs
- Mentoring
- Life counseling
- Recording birthdays and sending hand written cards with goodies
Expectations:
- Exhibit a strong Christian witness and maintain high biblical standards in personal and professional life.
- Engage actively in church life, both personally and with your family (e.g. Life Groups, Sunday Morning worship)
- Uphold the mission and vision of the church under the direct oversight of the Ministry & Oversight (M&O) Committee along with the guidance of the Pastoral team
- Willing to learn the ways of Friends/Quakers and adapt to continuing education as encouraged by M&O and the Monthy Meeting.
- Live within a reasonable distance from the church or be willing to relocate.
