Administrative Specialist
The Nevada Supreme Court is seeking a skilled and organized Administrative Specialist to support the Chief of Access to Justice and Research in Carson City. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful statewide initiatives.
Under general supervision, the Administrative Specialist will provide a broad range of administrative, clerical, and project support to the Chief and the Access to Justice/Research Units. Responsibilities include managing the Chief’s calendar, organizing and scheduling meetings, and ensuring all logistical details are handled efficiently. The ideal candidate will help coordinate daily operations, manage timelines for special projects, draft and prepare communications, engage with Justices and Judges, court staff, and justice system partners to support the unit’s goals and activities and ensure the Chief’s office remains organized, responsive, and effective.
The incumbent may be required to attend meetings outside of normal working hours, work occasional evening and weekend hours, and may be required to travel statewide as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Chief, including calendar management, scheduling, and preparation for meetings.
- Draft and edit correspondence, meeting summaries, and reports.
- Create, maintain, and organize Excel spreadsheets, surveys, and databases.
- Assist with research and data compilation to support initiatives.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings and events, including making travel arrangements, placing orders, and preparing materials.
- Communicate professionally with judges, court staff, justice partners, and the public.
- Manage records, mail, and supply inventory.
- Support ongoing and special projects for the Access to Justice/Research Units and related programs.
- Take meeting minutes and distribute summaries as needed.
Qualifications

- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Professionalism and discretion, especially when handling sensitive or confidential matters.
- Initiative and a willingness to learn.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience handling calendaring, phone inquiries, creating professional documents, and working in customer service or a similar administrative setting.
