Kentucky College Coach (Full-Time, AmeriCorps)
Dates: ASAP – May 31, 2026 (Potential extension through July 31, 2027)
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday)
Stipend: $1,810/month living allowance (pre-tax)

About the Program
Kentucky College Coaches on Campus believes every student deserves equal access to education, support, and opportunity. As a College Coach, you will play a critical role in helping students—especially those from underserved or marginalized backgrounds (e.g., first-generation college-goers, low-income, minority, non-traditional, or disabled students)—transition successfully from high school to college and persist through their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with a caseload of students ("Core Students") and provide regular mentorship
- Track student engagement, document contact, and report progress to your site supervisor
- Support academic success by helping students develop time management, study, and organizational skills
- Encourage and assist with FAFSA completion, college applications, and scholarship research
- Collaborate with high school and college staff to embed college-readiness strategies into the classroom
- Connect students to campus and community resources, including TRIO, mental health services, and tutoring
- Promote self-esteem, leadership, and cultural engagement through student involvement
- Identify and intervene with students at risk of probation or dropping out in collaboration with other departments
- Support and attend campus events, family nights, and service-learning opportunities
- Assist with data collection, program evaluation, and impact reporting
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
Required:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Professional email and phone etiquette
- Organizational, mentoring, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Team-oriented mindset with a passion for student success
- Cultural awareness and willingness to support diverse student populations
