Inventory Control Analyst
We are looking for an Inventory Control Analyst to join our Operations team at JONATHAN Y. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory across our distribution center (DC) network. This role serves as the central point of accountability for all inventory-related data—ensuring that quantities in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and NetSuite align with physical inventory counts and Finance records. The analyst will lead the daily cycle count process in collaboration with on-site associates at each DC, drive root-cause analysis for discrepancies, and standardize best practices across locations to maintain inventory accuracy and financial reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Run an ongoing cycle count program that prioritizes high-value and high-movement items to ensure consistent inventory accuracy; reconcile variances quickly and drive root-cause fixes.
- Oversee two designated cycle count associates at each DC to ensure timely and accurate daily counts.
- Maintain inventory accuracy above the target threshold (99%+).
- Ensure item master data, bin and location mapping, and all inventory transactions (receipts, transfers, returns, and adjustments) are accurate and up to date.
- Monitor inventory transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency across WMS, NetSuite, and Finance systems.
- Identify and correct systemic or process errors that impact data reliability.
- Partner with the Inbound Logistics team to validate purchase orders against manifests before arrival.
- Verify receipts against documentation to resolve shortages, overages, or product discrepancies.
- Support efficient receiving and put-away processes that minimize reconciliation issues.
- Generate and distribute weekly and monthly inventory variance reports to Operations and Finance.
- Partner with Finance to support month-end inventory reconciliation, ensuring alignment between WMS, NetSuite, and financial books.
- Assist with periodic audits, cycle count validation, and audit readiness documentation.
- Standardize inventory control SOPs across all DCs and enforce consistent execution.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to create reports and dashboards that highlight inventory discrepancies and unusual patterns for prompt action.
- Identify recurring issues and collaborate cross-functionally to eliminate root causes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain analysis.
- Proficiency in WMS and ERP systems (experience with NetSuite strongly preferred).
- Strong analytical and Excel skills; ability to interpret data and identify process gaps.
- Experience in cycle count program management and audit preparation.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
