This internship is part of the Schwartz Community Based Internships. This premier opportunity allows UR undergraduate students to access traditionally unpaid opportunities that highlight the value of the humanities in the workplace. If selected, students will receive a $5,000 stipend over a minimum 270-hour period in a non-for-profit organization in the Rochester, NY region.

Job Title: People Operations Intern
Department: People Operations

Overview: Join us and be part of a mission-driven team that prioritizes innovation, collaboration, and continuous development. The People Operations Intern will support the People Operations team in administrative and operational tasks, gaining hands-on experience in HR processes, compliance, and recruitment. This summer internship is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
· Scans and uploads employee files into Trillium’s HRIS, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
· Assists with auditing personnel files for compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
· Prepares and organizes onboarding packets for new hire orientation.
· Supports People Operation (PO) staff during orientation sessions.
· Assists with recruitment efforts, including candidate sourcing and screening.
· Reviews resumes and maintains documentation in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
· Helps maintain job postings and understands job description requirements.
· Provides administrative support for PO projects and initiatives.
· Maintains strict confidentiality of all employee and candidate information.
Required Key Skills and Qualifications:
· Must be currently enrolled in a Human Resources degree program.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

· Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all patient, client, employee, protected and proprietary information.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. Occasionally the employee must stoop, bend and lift or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
