Civil/Structural Engineer
Provide leadership and guidance to build an accident-free workplace. Support the Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams by providing timely information as it relates to structures, platforms, access ladders, stairs, and foundations. Placing emphasis on safety, equipment reliability, and cost control. The responsibilities of a Civil/Structural Engineer at Nucor include, but are not limited to, designing small buildings, platforms, equipment supports, and foundation systems following relevant codes. Reviewing and checking civil/structural drawings. Working with others to continue to grow as an Engineer. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and documentation for all Civil/Structural improvements and upgrades across the Hot Mill and Cold Mill. Be available at all times as a technical resource and subject matter expert for engineering, maintenance, and operations. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to engineering ethics and department goals, be self-motivated, and have the ability to articulate and make effective decisions. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
