Staff Associate, CAAS Advisory (Dec 2026)

About the Role:
The CAAS Staff Associate is one of the most important parts of the Advisory department, providing the firm's clients with guidance and leadership. CAAS Staff Associates take on the responsibility of private company controllers, helping clients run and improve their accounting departments, focusing on advising and process optimization. This role is heavily client-facing and is ideal for someone who has the desire to learn all accounting-related processes in detail and has a focus on timely and accurate financial reporting.

This role has tremendous opportunities for growth and has high visibility to Senior Leadership within the organization.
 

CAAS Responsibilities

  • Typical client assignments will include all areas of responsibility a private company controller/CFO would be tasked with handling.
  • Assist team members staffed on interim controller/CFO/outsourced accounting projects.
  • Understand and evaluate the current workflow and organizational structure of client's current processes, procedures, and technology, as well as assisting the clients to become more efficient in those fields.
  • Assist with month-end closes including bank and credit card reconciliations, balance sheet roll forwards, posting journal entries for prepaid/accrued expenses, payroll, revenue recognition, etc., and reviewing monthly balance sheets and income statements, etc.
  • Assist team members with ad-hoc specialty projects on emerging issues
  • Research third party solutions for client pain points that is performed outside of the accounting system. Work with Business Advisory team members to develop Key Performance Indicators for businesses, set targets, and monitor progress for them.
  • Support on accounting system conversion projects.


Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field.
  • Individuals with plans to pursue their CPA are highly desired.
  • Internship experience in the public accounting industry is preferred.
  • Candidates should be detail oriented and interested in pursuing a career in public accounting, highly motivated team players, and in possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as effective problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and advance proficiency in a variety of accounting systems and desire to focus on continuous improvement.
