Electrical Engineering Intern Summer 2026

Internship Overview 

BlackPearl’s 10-week internship program for 2026 is from June 1st to August 7th and will be on-site. You will work closely with the interns from other departments on a group project. As an Electrical Intern, you will also complete an individual project assigned to you upon hire.  This is not related to Power, it is small circuitry, PCBs, and electrical schematics using Altium.  The training program would be modified to fit the experience and skill level of the selected candidate.  

Qualifications: 

·        Enrolled in an accredited college or university 

·        Must have Sophomore level Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering curriculum completed 

·        Achieving a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a focus on Electronics, or Electrical Design 

·        Proficient in the use of ORCAD and/or Altium packages 

·        Proficient in the soldering of surface mount and through-hole components 

·        Ability to work 32-40 hours per work week; day-to-day hours flexible 

·        Preferred GPA: 3.0 or higher 

·        The ability to maintain strict confidentiality; must sign an agreement 

Essential Functions 

·        Design schematics and layouts using Altium and ORCAD Software 

·        Assist team members by resolving any potential problems or discrepancies that occur during the manufacturing process, such as interferences in electrical designs 

·        Prepare supporting documents along with BOM’s 

·        Review supplier drawings conforming with laid down specifications plus dimensional compatibility along with mating assemblies and components 

·        Conducting research, performing diagnostics, and troubleshooting equipment 

·        Perform engineering calculations to support design work 

·        Complete Cross-Departmental Training
