Who We Are
We are the Royal Oak Leprechauns, a summer collegiate baseball organization competing in one of the premier wood-bat leagues in the country. Each year we host 36 home games filled with exciting baseball, creative promotions, and a fan-focused ballpark atmosphere. Our games draw thousands of passionate supporters from across Metro Detroit, with select broadcasts featured on ESPN+, giving our players and our staff a national platform. We are committed to developing future sports professionals, delivering outstanding entertainment, and serving the Royal Oak community and beyond.
What You'll Do
As a Broadcast & Media Intern, you’ll be on the front lines of telling the Leprechauns' story. You’ll help produce and stream live games, support broadcast operations, and assist with media content that reaches fans near and far. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced sports environment — perfect for someone who wants real experience, real responsibility, and real reps in sports media.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with live game broadcasts including setup & teardown of equipment
Working with broadcasters, on-air talent, and game-day production staff
Camera operation and support for live-streamed home games
Audio & video troubleshooting during broadcasts
Conducting player/coach interviews and assisting with media requests
Creating highlight clips and post-game content
Helping update social and digital platforms with broadcast-related media
What You Bring
Interest in sports broadcasting, communications, journalism, or media production
Strong communication skills and on-the-fly problem-solving
Ability to work nights, weekends, and long game days
Enthusiasm, creativity, and a willingness to learn
Experience with cameras, audio equipment, and live-streaming software (preferred but not required)
