Wozniak's Software Development Shop is a subsidiary company of Trenton Makes. We have paid software development jobs available. Most of these jobs are project-based. Our mission is to transform the region into a hub of creative energy and AI-driven tech growth — Central New Jersey is quickly becoming the East Coast Silicon Valley. We have many software projects that you may choose from in order to improve your skills and stay up to date with the most modern software development techniques, including development using AI and Vibe coding. 


Overview

We’re looking for motivated and ambitious Software Developer Interns to harness AI in building digital tools, prototyping innovative startup ideas, and accelerating early-stage ventures through our incubator. This is a hands-on role where you’ll dive into AI-assisted development, gaining real-world experience on cutting-edge projects in a fast-paced, startup-style environment. Our goal is to empower developers to grow through practical, AI-powered experience. 


What You'll Do

  • Join paid and unpaid project-based development teams through Wozniak’s Discord community
  • Leverage AI tools like GitHub Copilot and Cursor to accelerate web and mobile application development (React, Python, Node.js, etc.) 
  • Collaborate with founders and startups to prototype AI-enhanced MVPs, integrating tools such as LangChain for conversational AI or Hugging Face for machine learning models 
  • Use AI-driven platforms like Vercel v0 for rapid UX/UI prototyping and Amazon CodeWhisperer for code optimization and performance testing 
  • Contribute to idea validation with AI-powered user feedback analysis (e.g., via GPT models or Claude for sentiment processing) and agile iterations supported by tools like Tabnine 
  • Experiment with emerging AI products like Replit AI for collaborative coding sessions and apply best practices in ethical AI-integrated software development 


Who You Are 

  • Currently enrolled in a CS, Software Engineering, AI, or related program 
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with an interest in AI-augmented workflows
  •  Proficient in one or more of: JavaScript/React, Python, Java, or mobile development, plus familiarity with AI code assistants
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and eagerness to adapt to new AI tools and frameworks quickly
  •  Bonus: Experience with Git, Firebase, APIs, or hands-on work with AI/ML tools like GitHub Copilot, LangChain, or Hugging Face Transformers
  • Willingness to treat AI tools as a teammate
