Position Overview:
At BWXT, our interns perform challenging tasks in their field of study while developing and delivering unique engineering solutions for use in a nuclear environment. Our interns work collaboratively as part of our Engineering team and will create/update drawings and procedures, assist with product and/or tooling designs, perform testing and analysis, and assist with project management and the procurement of materials as needed. A BWXT internship not only provides valuable on the job training but allows you to be a part of something bigger!

On-site in Mount Vernon, IN
Your Day to Day as an Engineer Intern:
- Work alongside our experienced Engineering team to create and update drawings and procedures.
- Assist in designing products and tooling solutions tailored for a nuclear environment.
- Participate in testing and analysis to support engineering projects.
- Contribute to project management efforts and the procurement of materials as needed.
- Complete your internship with the opportunity to present your projects and insights to the team.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology program.
- Must be a sophomore or higher at the time the internship begins.
- U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Completed coursework in Statistics, Mechanics of Materials, and/or Solid Modeling.
- A strong passion for engineering innovation and learning in a nuclear environment.
