Job Description
Manage and monitor the Capital Outlay Consultant Program and Capital Outlay and Maintenance Reserve projects.
How you will contribute:
- Construction Documents: Manage and coordinate the construction documents review procedure with VDOT and other agencies.
- Non-Capital Projects: Manage administrative, scheduling, operational, and programming activities for VDOT's non-capital building projects.
- Program Management: Manage administrative, budgeting, scheduling, operational and programming activities of VDOT's Capital Outlay Program. Manage administrative aspects of design, preparation of bid documents, construction and project close-out for VDOT's Capital Outlay Program.

- Ability to manage and administer the design and construction of building facilities.
- Ability to plan and direct major construction projects.
- Knowledge of architecture and civil engineering principles and practices related to building construction.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and practices related to capital outlay management.
- Knowledge of the Commonwealth of Virginia Construction and Professional Services Manual, Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and other codes used in building design and construction.
- Skill in analyzing how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
- Skill in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Skill in the use of computers and web based applications including AutoCAD.

- Progressively responsible experience managing, administering the design and construction of building facilities.
- Skill in identifying complex problems, reviewing related information to develop, evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Skill in the use of computers and web based applications including AutoCAD.
Additional Considerations:
- A combination of training, experience, or education in Architecture or related field desired.
- AutoCAD computer software experience.
- Experience managing administration of capital outlay programs.
- Valid Architect License.
