Mechanical Engineering Intern : 3D Modeling
Position Summary:
We are seeking mechanically minded engineering students to create production-quality 3D models of our automated conveyor equipment. This role will focus on customer-facing visualizations, exploded assemblies for technical documentation, and groundwork for potential integration with a product configurator.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed 3D models of equipment in Autodesk Inventor (STEP/IGES exchange acceptable)
Build organized assemblies and exploded views showing sub-assemblies, BOM relationships, and service access
Prepare visual assets (GLB/FBX) for potential use in web and customer-facing applications
Work with provided drawings, existing models, photos/videos, and subject-matter experts to ensure accuracy
Minimum Requirements:
Current enrollment in Mechanical Engineering or a related program
Familiarity with 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred; SolidWorks acceptable)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical assemblies
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience with BOM creation, exploded views, or technical product visualization
Knowledge of exportable 3D formats (GLB/FBX) for digital applications
Interest in automation, mechanical systems, or product design
