Design Assistant – Freelance

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Designer with some interning experience.  The candidate would be assisting the women’s ready-to-wear Sr. Designer on our  New York design team. The ideal candidate will have some technical garment construction skills, and ability to work with tech packs, detail sketches, Illustrator flats, and light pattern work in Photoshop.

You will support the Sr. Designer in aspects of the design process — from concept development, CAD creation, TPs and presentation decks — ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and edit detailed CAD sketches, fill with print and pattern. 
  • Photoshop and Illustrator work on pattern development, coloring, etc. 
  • Assist in the creation of presentation boards and visual decks for communication to merchants and PD.
  • Prepare and update tech packs. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
  • 1-2 experiences interning in design related field, ideally womenswear. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software; experience with deck creation and presentation layouts a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task on a small team.
  • Communication skills and collaborative work ethic a plus.
