FiveTax is seeking a full-time Accounting & Compliance Associate to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. This role is ideal for someone who understands accounting fundamentals but wants to grow into a role focused on practical compliance, operations, and business systems rather than just traditional bookkeeping.

Key Responsibilities

Support and manage multiple small-business clients in areas including payroll, sales tax, and business licensing.

Review, organize, and maintain compliance documentation for entities across multiple jurisdictions.

Work closely with senior accountants to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Engage directly with business owners to resolve accounting and operational challenges.

Assist in implementing process improvements and compliance automation tools.

Participate in cross-functional projects related to tax strategy, business formation, and audit preparation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or near completion) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory frameworks (U.S. GAAP exposure preferred).

Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working directly with clients.

OPT candidates are welcome—we value analytical thinkers eager to grow in a compliance-driven environment.

Prior experience with QuickBooks, Excel, or tax preparation software is a plus but not required.
