Job Description and Duties

The Public Works Contracting Branch is responsible for the development, procurement, negotiation, and administration of Collaborative Delivery contracts for the entire Department of Water Resources (DWR). Very few jobs allow you to gain real experience and knowledge working on some of DWR’s most complex and largest public works projects or have a real role supporting the work across the entire Department. This can include construction projects to repair and improve canals, pipelines, and dams, or secure technical expertise for engineering design, complex numerical modeling, or environmental compliance and regulatory support. Under the general direction of the Supervising Engineer, Water Resources, the incumbent will work in a collaborative environment to perform technical functions related to procuring, awarding, and administering Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC) contracts awarded pursuant to PCC 10112 et seq., Fixed Price Design-Build Contracts (FPDB) and Progressive Design-Build (PDB) pursuant to PCC 10200 et seq. and 10215 et seq., respectively; and for the management of the Collaborative Delivery contracts.
