====Campus Security Authority====
Community Safety Ambassadors (“CSA”), are designated as a Campus Security Authority (“CSA”) per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (“Clery Act”). Under the Clery Act, CSAs must immediately report to the UC Irvine Police Department (“UCIPD”) allegations of Clery Act crimes that are made in good faith. A CSA is not responsible for determining whether a crime took place – that is the function of law enforcement personnel. A CSA should not try and convince a victim to contact law enforcement if the victim chooses not to do so. CSAs are obligated to report crimes which occur on campus, on public property within or immediately adjacent to the campus, and in or on non-campus buildings or property that UC Irvine owns or controls
