About the Engineering Tutoring Center:
Purpose:
Help USU students become driven, resourceful, and technically-proficient engineers by
grounding our teaching in the fundamentals of engineering, creating a culture of connection, and collaborating with faculty in the College of Engineering.
The Engineering Tutoring Center (ETC) provides drop-in tutoring for all undergraduate pre-professional level courses and select professional level courses.
Characteristics of an Engineering Tutor for Electrical/Computer Engineering:
We are looking for undergraduates in Electrical or Computer Engineering that are:
• Dedicated to helping the Engineering Tutoring Center fulfill its purpose
• Eager to improve their understanding of fundamental engineering concepts
• Focused on helping their peers succeed in engineering
• Demonstrating capabilities of balancing work and school
• Accepted into the professional program or nearly finished with pre-professional program courses
• Able to contribute to, and work well in, a team environment
Responsibilities:
Engineering Tutors have the following responsibilities (listed in order of priority) in the
ETC:
• Teach and provide resources to students visiting the Tutoring Center
• Review concepts from undergraduate courses they will be tutoring
• Engage with team projects and goals
• Develop themselves professionally
• Attend scheduled team meetings

Other Requirements:
• Strong GPA (≈ 3.5)
• Graduating Spring 2026 - Spring 2029
• Minimum of 8 hours per week to work
