Overview:
West Whiteland Township is seeking Skilled Workers to join our Public Works team. Positions are available in Utilities Maintenance (sewer system & pump stations) and Parks & Facilities Maintenance (parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and municipal facilities). These roles involve hands-on work, equipment operation, and maintaining safe, functional public spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilities Maintenance:

• Operate and maintain sewer system, 5 pump stations, and storm sewers.
• Inspect, clean, and repair manholes, pipes, laterals, and pump stations.
• Assist with I&I investigations, flow monitoring, and preventive maintenance.
• Emergency response including storm events, snow, and ice removal.

Parks & Facilities Maintenance:

• Maintain parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, trails, and municipal facilities.
• Perform landscaping, mowing, trimming, mulching, and tree care.
• Prepare and maintain athletic fields; line, seed, fertilize, and maintain irrigation.
• Conduct playground inspections and safety checks.
• Assist with facility repairs (carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical).
• Participate in snow/ice removal and event setup.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid PA CDL (Class B required; Class A preferred).
• Experience in sewer maintenance, parks, grounds, or facility maintenance.
• Ability to perform heavy labor and work outdoors in all weather.
• DEP wastewater certification, electrical/plumbing experience, or playground safety certification a plus.
• Teamwork, reliability, and public interaction skills.
• On-call availability for emergencies.
