Veterinary Technician

We are looking for veterinary technicians who are confident in themselves and their skills to join our strong team and enjoy the family-like community small town medicine can provide as well. We are a rapidly growing and thriving mixed animal veterinary practice that serves a rapidly growing rural community as well. Our practice offers radiology, in-clinic and reference lab work available, surgery, dental, farm calls, chiropractic, as well as cold laser therapy. We are an easy drive, just 25 to 30 minutes east of the Denver area. Clinical and surgical duties

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
  • Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during and after surgery
  • Perform diagnostic tests, including collecting blood, urine, and tissue samples
  • Take X-rays and other diagnostic imaging
  • Provide nursing care, such as administering medications, vaccines, and treatments
  • Perform dental prophylaxis and other routine procedures
  • Assist with wound care, such as cleaning and bandaging 

Patient and client care

  • Handle and restrain animals for exams and treatments
  • Monitor and record vital signs
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient medical records
  • Educate animal owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures
  • Communicate with clients regarding an animal's status and treatment plans
  • Provide compassionate support to owners, including during euthanasia 

Other responsibilities

  • Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment
  • Manage inventory and order supplies
  • Assist with administrative duties, such as scheduling and billing
