Family Advocate - Blaine Location

Position: Family Advocate 

Reports To: Executive Director 

Classification: Full time, Exempt 

Wage Rate: $52,000 – $58,000/year

Mobile Hope is a growing non-profit organization that seeks to build relationships, hope and a culture of achievement in mobile home communities through education, healthy activities, resource connections and faith development. 

Purpose of Position: Mobile Hope is seeking a Family Advocate Case Manager who will work exclusively with the Mobile Hope Family Thrive Program. The Family Advocate is focused on Mobile Hope’s Community in Blaine, MN and serves individuals and families living within that mobile home community. This position seeks to serve individuals and families by connecting them with necessary resources, programs, and services within the community to address their needs and goals. Through the provision of programming & supportive services, the culture of the park and its residents is positively impacted. The Family Advocate will partner with Centennial Square schools and Spring Lake Park schools, therapists, community agencies, and Anoka county services in an effort to stabilize & improve families and help them achieve their goals. 

Mobile Hope is a Faith Based 501(C)3 Non-Profit Organization that empowers individuals & transforms mobile home communities by leveraging the strengths of the diverse community they serve. All Mobile Hope Staff have the responsibility to maintain a healthy faith relationship with God, maintain their marriage/family as a priority, be a person of integrity and good moral standing consistent with the teachings of scripture, and actively participate in a local church of their choosing. 

Job Duties: 

• The Family Advocate Case Manager will work on goals related to: Trauma, Securing care for mental health services & programs/resources, Transitions in care 

• Provide culturally responsive, trauma informed care to the families enrolled in program. 

• Screen families for the program, provide onboarding assessments, & development of goals. 

• Measure and record individual and total program outcomes and impact 

• Provide weekly, in-person services in the home, in office, & as needed at the school. 

• Provide parental education & skill development to address children’s needs including: school academics & attendance, behavioral issues, and health. 

• Connection to services, & reducing barriers to care for the family system and to build resilience. 

• Assist the family in accessing needed community resources (i.e., county social services, insurance, employment, food shelves, energy assistance, etc.). 

• Act as liaison between client, school, and other community agencies providing services to client. 

• Assist residents and youth connecting to relevant resources, social programs, benefits, and job opportunities. 

• Represent Mobile Hope with collaborating organizations to execute program goals. 

• Participate, when requested by staff, in the administration and delivery of programs and activities. This provides a means to connect and build trust with families. 

• Maintain a good working relationship with all local schools and administration fostering open communication regarding students with parents and teachers. 

• Set up, tear down, and maintain program space, tables and chairs, and buildings. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: In order to be considered for this position, you must hold: 

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, social work, or related field 

• Have completed an internship or practicum with adults or K-12 students and 2+ years post grad experience. 

Preferred:  

▪ Master’s degree in behavioral sciences 

▪ Understanding of mental health diagnoses and medications for children & adults 

▪ Spanish speaker 

Additionally, you must meet the following requirements: 

• Willingness to work in person, out of Blaine, MN 

• Willingness to work hours that accommodate connection with families (ie: Regular daytime hours with an evening available for scheduling appointments or home visits) 

• Hold faith-based beliefs that are in alignment with Mobile Hope 

• Desire to work with families experiencing a variety of psychosocial stressors & potential trauma.
