Patron Services Assistant

The Patron Services Assistant is a seasonal, part-time, in-person position that supports The Gilmore’s Box Office operations and provides exceptional customer service to patrons. Reporting to the Patron Services & Database Manager, this role is responsible for assisting with ticket sales, exchanges, and inquiries both in person and by phone, as well as during live events through the Gilmore Piano Festival. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, a friendly and professional demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Evening and weekend availability is required, and reliable transportation is essential, as the position involves working at various event venues across the community.

The Irving S. Gilmore International Piano Festival (The Gilmore) promotes and develops world-class musical experiences through its Gilmore Artist Awards; Larry J. Bell Jazz Awards; an annual music festival featuring the most accomplished international pianists; outstanding piano education and community engagement programs and the commissioning of new music for the piano.

Requirements Of The Position

Provide support to The Gilmore Box Office processing ticket orders and exchanges. Provide excellent customer service in person, by phone, and during events.

  • Primary responsibility is selling tickets and assisting customers with questions in the Gilmore Box Office, over the phone, and at the door during events. 
  • Daily reconciliation of transactions through The Gilmore's ticketing system.
  • Responsible for following Gilmore Box Office policies and procedures. 
  • Process ticket exchanges, donations, and gift certificates. 
  • Keep informed as to changes in programming, dates, artist changes, and new ticket offers
  • Working knowledge of ticketing systems, Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, and project management software preferred. 
  • Sales and/or customer service experience required. 
  • Good telephone presence and ability to work with the public as a source of information and sales. 
  • Good organizational skills and ability to handle several projects simultaneously. 
  • Reliable and dependable to fill shifts when scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range and Hourly Requirements

This is an hourly, seasonal, part-time position, and pay range is commensurate with experience and skill; between $20 to $25 per hour.

Approximate Hours: Nov-Jan (20 hrs), Feb-Apr (25 hrs wk), May (40 hrs wk)

Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.

This position involves reporting to various locations and requires reliable transportation.
