PC Maintenance Technician II

Purpose of Position

 

 

The purpose of this position is to provide advanced personal computer hardware and software support and courtroom audio/visual support and administration under the supervision of the IT Manager for the Greene County Circuit Court.

(This position differs from the PC Maintenance Technician III position in that it may require more direct supervision and additional training.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all- inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, audio/visual systems and computer peripherals.

Installs, inspects, and tests personal computer systems to ensure proper operations including the repair or replacement of defective parts and software/device drivers.

Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems. Upgrades software, patches, and operating systems on a continuous basis.

Troubleshoots hardware and software problems.

 

Communicates, analyzes, and troubleshoots routine user problems and provides proper solutions or remedies.

Supports and maintains LAN and Windows server operations and applications. Assists in the installation of network systems and cabling.

Manages Anti-virus\Update server\email server\mobile devices


 

Refers major system problems to the Circuit Court IT manager. Performs duties of Help Desk/Computer Operator.

Additional Tasks and Responsibilities

 

While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members.

Answers telephone and assist employees with IT related issues. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

 

Vocational/technical training in personal computer hardware and software installation, maintenance, and user support with at least 2-4 years related experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Associate degree in Computer Science, and Networking experience may be required. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
