Web Development Intern
The role of the Web Development Intern is to support the creation, maintenance, and optimization of the web-based platform and tools for Agents of Influence. This includes contributing to clean, maintainable code for both front-end and back-end systems, implementing new features, improving site performance, implementing responsive designs, integrating APIs, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and ensuring security best practices. The intern will also help with integrating third-party services and running tests to identify and resolve bugs. Additionally, they will collaborate with the design, content, and engineering teams to ensure the web experience aligns with the project's educational goals and engages users effectively.

Location and Work Environment
This is a fully remote position, allowing you the flexibility to work from home or another suitable location. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Reliable Internet Connection: A stable high-speed internet connection (minimum 20 Mbps) is required for video conferencing and accessing company tools.
- Equipment: You should have access to a reliable computer with a webcam and a headset. If needed, the company can provide additional equipment to support your work.
- Workspace: A quiet, distraction-free workspace is essential for meetings and focused work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with front-end and back-end web development tasks to support Agents of Influence’s online presence.
- Implement responsive and accessible design features that work across devices and browsers.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues to ensure site stability and performance.
- Collaborate with design, content, and engineering teams to bring creative concepts to life.
- Support updates to site content, layouts, and interactive elements.
- Conduct testing and gather feedback to inform improvements in usability, speed, and accessibility.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with front-end development using React and TypeScript.
- Exposure to Figma workflows and ability to translate designs into functional components.
- Basic understanding of Github, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals.
- Interest in or experience with back-end development and API integration.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues efficiently.
- Understanding of responsive and accessible design principles.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a cross-disciplinary team.
- Eagerness to learn new tools, frameworks, and development best practices.
Compensation and Benefits
This is an unpaid internship. There is potential to grow into a paid role.
