Game Development Intern

The role of the Game Development Intern is to support the engineering team on a range of tasks related to developing and refining Agents of Influence. This includes scripting gameplay features, debugging, working with assets in Unity, and contributing to UI and level design. Additionally, the intern will help coordinate and analyze playtesting sessions to improve the game's quality and educational impact.

Location and Work Environment

This is a fully remote position, allowing you the flexibility to work from home or another suitable location. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Reliable Internet Connection: A stable high-speed internet connection (minimum 20 Mbps) is required for video conferencing and accessing company tools.
  • Equipment: You should have access to a reliable computer with a webcam and a headset. If needed, the company can provide additional equipment to support your work.
  • Workspace: A quiet, distraction-free workspace is essential for meetings and focused work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and refine gameplay systems and features using C# in Unity
  • Assist in debugging, optimization, and platform testing
  • Integrate visual and audio assets into the game environment 
  • Contribute to level design and user interface functionality 
  • Coordinate and support user playtesting sessions (remote and/or in-person) 
  • Collect and synthesize playtest feedback to inform iteration
  • Collaborate with the design, narrative, and production teams 
  • Maintain clean, well-documented, and reusable code

Qualifications

  • Experience with C# (coursework or personal projects welcome!)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Interest in both technical development and user-centered design
  • Organized and proactive in tracking tasks and feedback
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
  • Bonus: Experience with Unity
  • Bonus: Experience with playtesting, QA, or usability studies
  • Bonus: Passion for educational games, storytelling, or social impact

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work in a timely fashion to meet deadlines and support team projects.
  • Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.

Compensation and Benefits

This is an unpaid internship. There is potential to grow into a paid role.
