Associate Veterinarian – Portland Metro, ME - #9066

Associate Veterinarian – Portland Metro, ME - #9066

Seeking an Associate Veterinarian in the Portland area of Maine.

If you’re looking for a veterinary home where teamwork actually means something, where your input is valued, and where lunch breaks really do happen, our animal hospital might be the perfect fit.

We’re an AAHA-accredited, seven-doctor practice proudly serving the pets of Southern Maine since 1985. Around here, excellence isn’t just a buzzword — it’s the standard. Our team is known for delivering top-tier medicine (AAHA sets the bar high!), but also for being downright good humans who take care of each other. Many of our staff members have been with us for years — even decades — and that longevity says it all.

We’re open to veterinarians of all experience levels, but we’d especially love to add someone who’s confident in (or excited to learn more about) exotic pet care — from bunnies to bearded dragons. You’ll have a strong, experienced support team behind you so you can focus on what you do best: practicing great medicine and connecting with clients.

Here are some things that make us different:

  • AAHA-accredited means we meet over 900 standards of veterinary excellence — and we’re proud of it.
  • No overnights, no on-call — we believe rest is part of doing your best work.
  • Half-day Saturdays (shared rotation) so you can start your weekend early.
  • Midday breaks built into the schedule — time to catch up on notes, treatments, or just breathe. Some of our staff like to go for a walk down the beautiful country road, work out (in our on-site exercise room!), or just take the time to breathe.
  • A full, skilled support staff that keeps things running smoothly (and laughs often).
  • A culture that’s supportive, positive, and genuinely fun — our team works hard and has each other’s backs.

If this sounds like a place you would like to spend your days, please reach out today!

Life in Portland

Did someone say Lobstah? Because if you love this delectable dish, you can find some in just about every corner of town! But, while Portland might be famous for its lobster, there is SO MUCH more to do here than nosh on exquisite seafood. Watch boats sail in and out of the harbor, delight in snow that is piled above your head in the heart of Winter, and swim in lakes, rivers, and the Atlantic Ocean in Maine’s perfectly warm Summers. Explore The Old Port on the waterfront that converted historic warehouses into amazing restaurants, local craft breweries, and shops, or hike, bike, walk, and run on one of the many hills and mountains surrounding the city. Whether you’re into ice hockey, ice fishing, white water rafting, or lazily relaxing on the beach, life is simply pleasant in and around Portland. Cheer on baseball, basketball, and hockey teams year-round, take a day trip into Canada, go on a lighthouse tour, or take a boat out to sea for whale watching! Maine is stunning and full of adventures year-round that you’ll never get tired of going on.
