R&D Co-Op - Biomedical/Opto-Mechanical Systems
About the Role
A world leader in cardiology optical imaging system development is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented R&D Co-op to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in experimental research, opto-mechanical systems, and medical device development. The Co-op will support ongoing R&D projects, contributing to both experimental investigations and theoretical analysis, mentored by top-tier engineers and scientists, while also learning about quality management in a regulated industry, which is vital for future career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of Experiments (DOE) for R&D projects.
- Perform experimental and theoretical analysis of opto-mechanical systems.
- Conduct laboratory tests and measurements on optical and mechanical subsystems.
- Document results, generate reports, and contribute to Quality Management System (QMS) documentation.
- Assist in troubleshooting and improving experimental setups.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members in optics, mechanical, and software engineering.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Photonics, Physics, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and engineering mindset.
- Ability to analyze experimental data and communicate findings clearly.
- Hands-on experience with optical system development (preferred).
- Interest in the medical device industry and regulated environments.
