The Corporate Sponsorship Intern at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston will be part of the External Relations team, which is responsible for marketing, PR, communications, fundraising and most importantly building lasting relationships with the Museum’s diverse constituents. The role will fall more specifically within the Marketing and Communications team, which oversees fundraising for corporate sponsorship. We seek an enthusiastic intern to assist with projects that contribute to the corporate sponsorship pipeline and execution of sponsorship benefits.
The Corporate Sponsorship Intern at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston will be part of the External Relations team, which is responsible for marketing, PR, communications, fundraising and most importantly building lasting relationships with the Museum’s diverse constituents. The role will fall more specifically within the Marketing and Communications team, which oversees fundraising for corporate sponsorship. We seek an enthusiastic intern to assist with projects that contribute to the corporate sponsorship pipeline.
The intern will report to the Manager of Corporate Sponsorship. They will work closely on tasks and projects relating to prospect research, survey facilitation, data interpretation, and reporting templates. Corporate sponsorships come from companies who partner with the Museum in support of exhibitions or programs in exchange for marketing visibility, hospitality benefits, VIP event access, and more.
Ideal candidates must be able to commit a minimum of 15 to 20 hours weekly (including hours after 5pm) from January 30 through April 24, 2026, including attendance at the undergraduate Museum Pathways & Practices professional development course from 12:30-2:30pm on the following Fridays: Feb 6, Feb 13, Feb 20, Feb 27, Apr 3, Apr 10, Apr 17, and Apr 24.
The intern will be paid at a rate of $16.80 per hour and will receive a $90 per month transportation subsidy. (*This subsidy is subject to taxes.)

Essential Functions:
This internship will focus on the back end and data side of Corporate Sponsorship.
- The intern will facilitate a series of emails/surveys and interpret data.
- The intern will research MFA Member affiliations.
- The intern will create templates and generate reports for sponsors which demonstrate the impact of the partnership with images and data.
- The intern will assist with gathering elements and editing context for proposals.
- The intern will learn how to update and add new entries to the donor database.
- The intern will attend and assist with event preparation meetings for those involved, such as volunteers, curatorial staff, and special guests.
- The intern will assist with benefit execution which could include welcoming companies onsite for a tour or assisting with their onsite activation.
- Utilizing skills and resources that will be provided, the intern will research sponsor prospects for MFA exhibitions and programs, as well as those to invite to the Sponsorship Prospecting Event.
- The intern will develop and execute a method for gathering feedback from the second annual Corporate Sponsorship Prospecting event on March 24, 2026.
- Final Project: Utilizing the skills, research, data, and experience gained throughout the internship, the intern will present to the sponsorship team on recommended action and next steps for prospects and processes.

Qualifications:

- Enrolled in an (under)graduate program concurrent with the internship period.
- Interest in learning more about the Museum of Fine Arts and contributing to the operations of External Relations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Experience with and/or interest in data management
- General knowledge of the local business community
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Interest in institutional fundraising and arts administration
- Excellent customer service, in writing, person, and by phone
- Ability to commit to work onsite 15-20 hours per week (within Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm parameters), from January 30 through April 24, 2026, including undergraduate attendance at the undergraduate Museum Pathways & Practices professional development course from 12:30-2:30pm on the following Fridays: Feb 6, Feb 13, Feb 20, Feb 27, Apr 3, Apr 10, Apr 17, and Apr 24.
- Ability to attend orientation on Fri, Jan 30, 2026, 10am to 3:30pm.
