Associate Attorney
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation NY or CT residential real estate law. The Associate Attorney will work collaboratively within our law office to provide exceptional legal services to our high-net-worth clients.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate contracts
- Serve as a liaison with clients, attorneys, realtors, title companies, municipal agencies, and vendors
- Review and summarize title commitments
- Draft closing statements - Assist in reviewing property surveys
- Prepare transactional, loan, including deeds, transfer tax returns, and settlement statements
- Work with lenders and be responsible for all aspects of the closing.
- Attend closings and coordinate the execution of closing documentation
- Organize documents and follow up with title companies to ensure timely recording
- Follow up with title companies to ensure the issuance of final title policies
- Address post-closing items
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- admission to the New York Bar or Connecticut Bar admission i
- - 1 to 5 years of experience in real estate law within a law firm is preferred, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
