Our family of practices started in 1982 when Dr. Marty Greer and Dr. Dan Griffiths started the Brownsville Small Animal Clinic in Brownsville WI and has continued to grow to four clinics.   We are proud that all our clinics are privately owned and operated.  

Our team is made up of a diverse group of veterinarians and support staff professionals who bring their love for animals to work with them every day. Our team comes from all backgrounds, and they have joined our clinics because of their desire to make a difference in the lives of animals, as well as the people who love those animals.

We have found the key to quality veterinary care is a combination of medical competence, empathy for pet owners, and compassion for our animal companions.  If you have these qualities, our clinics will be a good fit for you!

Our clinics specialize in dog and cat wellness and prevention, surgeries, reproduction, laser therapy and more.  We utilize low-stress handling, Fear Free principles with our patients.

Customer Service Representative (CSR)

The CSR is the face of the hospital and sets the tone as we build and maintain client trust and confidence.  This is a rewarding and busy position on our team and is the pivot around which the hospital operates. This profession demands empathy, work ethics, an upbeat personality, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and a passion for working with animals and their people.

The CSR responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greet and check in clients and patients.
  • Drive the flow of clients and pets through the hospital.
  • Manage calls in a multi-line phone system.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Process payments from clients.
  • Assist in recording patient records in files and in database.
  • Coordinate communications with clients, assistants and doctors.
  • Being willing to learn new technologies and processes.

Veterinary Assistants (VA)

The VA works together with our DVM’s, and Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVT) in multiple procedures providing care for animals (inpatient and outpatient) including physical examinations, dental procedures, surgeries, immunizations, daily care of boarding and in-house patients, specimen analysis, euthanasia as well as client education, marketing, inventory maintenance and cleanliness of hospital facility and equipment. This position requires a working knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and common diseases; their symptoms, means of transmission, treatment and prevention, and other basic preventative health care recommendations. The Veterinary Assistant is under the direct guidance and supervision of the Daily Charge Nurse and Veterinarians. 

 

We are seeking veterinary assistants who:

  • Genuinely enjoy working with animals and can deal with them even when stressed, ill or in pain.
  • Are well spoken and approaches job duties in a mature nature.
  • Can support and participate in a team approach to work; works well with all levels of hospital team members.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients, team members and leadership
  • Want to grow in knowledge and skills in animal husbandry

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas in accordance with clinical standards.
  • Effectively restrain pets even when large or difficult.
  • Knows common vaccines and vaccination protocols and can explain to clients.
  • Understands the importance of a clean and orderly facility; does not hesitate to clean or organize as part of a normal job duty.
  • Can set up clinical laboratory procedures such as fecal floatation exams, heartworm tests, skin scrapings, urinalysis, ear cytology and fungal cultures.
  • Assist the technician or veterinarian in acquiring diagnostic quality radiographs.
  • Can effectively utilize the practice management software  in accordance with hospital standards.
