Executive Assistant Emerging Professional
Overview
The Source of Hope is seeking a proactive and organized Executive Assistant Emerging Professional to support the executive director and leadership team in day-to-day operations. This hands-on role provides experience in administration, communication, and nonprofit management, offering a valuable opportunity to learn the inner workings of a growing community-based organization.
The Executive Assistant will help coordinate meetings, manage communications, organize documentation, and assist with planning programs and events that advance The Source of Hope’s mission. This position is ideal for students who enjoy supporting leadership, managing details, and contributing to meaningful projects in a dynamic environment.

Compensation
This is an unpaid Emerging Professional internship offering mentorship, leadership development, and professional experience in nonprofit administration.
Schedule
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Thursday: 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM
- Monthly Volunteering Event: Fourth Saturday, 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Approximately 15–20 hours per week
Emerging Professional Program
The Source of Hope’s Emerging Professional Program empowers college students and young adults to develop leadership, communication, and project coordination skills through hands-on experience. Participants gain mentorship and practical exposure to community engagement, nonprofit leadership, and professional administration.
Qualifications

- Proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite

- Professional attitude and commitment to community service
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Currently enrolled in college, pursuing or interested in Business Administration, Office Management, Communications, or related fields
- Experience in administration, customer service, or nonprofit environments is a plus but not required
Responsibilities
- Support the executive director in daily administrative and operational duties
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take accurate meeting minutes
- Draft and organize correspondence, reports, and documentation
- Assist in event planning and coordination for programs and outreach initiatives
- Maintain organized records and digital files in Google Drive
- Communicate with partner organizations, donors, and volunteers as needed
- Conduct research and compile information for projects and presentations
- Help prepare materials for meetings, grant applications, and public events
- Collaborate with staff and departments to ensure smooth communication
- Participate in Serving Hope community events (4th Saturday, 6 AM – 1 PM)
