Who We Are:
This section provides custom antenna design, antenna testing, hemispherical vector sensing DF and geolocation, DF arrays, and radiolocation solutions through our capabilities in electromagnetics and spatial processing algorithms.
Objectives of this Role:
- Provide engineering students an opportunity to be exposed to RF system development concepts, wireless communications techniques, digital signal processing algorithms and use cases in real world applications.
- Exposure to complex system development programs and develop skills applicable to system design, integration and test activities.
- Local, co-op, or Summer 2026 student position.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Assisting in several of the following design stages in the development of a reconfigurable antenna or antenna array: design, model, prototype, test, improvements.
- Writing or modifying MATLAB software to simulate, or characterize antenna/array performance.
- Evaluating and/or improving modeled or measured impedance match and radiation patterns, and assessing model accuracy.
- Calculating RF link budgets for space projects.
Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a Masters or a PhD in Electrical Engineering.
- Coursework and research must be focused on electromagnetics, antennas and/or RF circuits.
- 0 years: Must be proficient with MATLAB and at least one of the following full-wave electromagnetics simulation environments: Altair FEKO, Ansys HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, WIPL-D, or NEC (any variant).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Familiarity with direction finding (DF) and/or adaptive beamforming from coursework or lab work would be a plus.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
Special Requirements:
Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
