Research Assistant Intern (Work-Study)

This position is open only to students who qualify for federal or state work-study.

 

As a Research Assistant Intern at Folio, you’ll support ongoing research efforts aimed at understanding how college students find, access, and benefit from meaningful work experiences. You’ll work alongside a cross-functional team analyzing survey data, literature, and program outcomes to help inform Folio’s national initiatives on student employment, equity, and workforce readiness.

This role is ideal for students who are passionate about education, social impact, and data-driven research, and who want to gain experience in research design, analysis, and reporting in a real-world setting.

 

What You’ll Do

Support data collection, cleaning, and analysis for ongoing studies and reports.

Conduct literature reviews and summarize key findings across higher education and workforce topics.

Help draft research briefs, presentations, and internal reports.

Assist in survey design, data validation, and participant follow-up.

Collaborate with the product, data, and partnerships teams to connect research insights to organizational decisions.

Qualifications

Must be eligible for federal or state work-study funding.

Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Economics, Education, Sociology, Public Policy, or a related field.

Strong analytical and writing skills.

Familiarity with data analysis tools or survey platforms (e.g., Excel, R, Python, or Qualtrics) is a plus.

Attention to detail, organization, and intellectual curiosity.

Interest in education access, workforce development, or public policy research.
