Software Engineer Intern

Note: This position is open only to students who qualify for federal or state work-study.

 

As a Software Engineer Intern at Folio, you’ll apply your classroom learning to real-world projects that help thousands of students find meaningful, career-aligned work opportunities. You’ll join a collaborative team of engineers and designers working to make career discovery, internship matching, and professional growth more accessible to all students.

This is an excellent opportunity for students who want to build technical experience, strengthen their portfolio with production-level code, and make a tangible impact on education and social mobility.

 

What You’ll Do

Design and build new platform features that improve the student experience.

Support front-end and/or back-end development depending on your skills and interests.

Debug, test, and document code to ensure high-quality releases.

Collaborate closely with teammates across product, design, and data.

Contribute ideas during sprint planning and product discussions.

Qualifications

Must be eligible for federal or state work-study funding.

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript).

Basic understanding of web development and Git version control.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Curiosity, creativity, and an eagerness to learn new technologies.
