Human Resources Intern

We offer a unique perspective into the world of food manufacturing with a 10–12-week paid internship in our US Human Resources group at our Corporate Americas HQ in Northbrook, IL. As a key player on the team, the Human Resources Intern will be exposed to several core competencies within the Human Resources job function.

 

This is a hybrid role based out of Northbrook, IL.


Key Accountabilities

•    Appreciative Feedback Program: Contribute to the success of our Appreciative Feedback Program by developing engaging communications and gathering insights to continuously improve the initiative.
•    Employee Handbook Update: Assist in updating and drafting HR policies with the Company Handbook to ensure compliance, clarity, and alignment with company values.
•    Employee File & Compliance Management: Maintain accurate employee records and support compliance efforts through regular I-9 audits and documentation reviews.
•    Learning & Development Project: Identify and coordinate a learning & development course for the interns to participate in during the summer. 
•    Employer Branding: Update employer branding pages, including Glassdoor and Indeed, with refreshing new content based on best practices research. 
•    HR SharePoint Redesign: Review the current HR SharePoint site and lead efforts to streamline and modernize it into a more user-friendly, visually engaging, and resource-rich platform.
•    Wellness & Inclusion Programs: Help plan and evaluate initiatives that support employee well-being.

 

Desired Skills and Background

•    Completed Junior year of college with a concentration in Human Resources, Management, or Business Administration
•    Experience handling confidential matters.
•    Prior Human Resources experience is a plus
•    Effective project management and time management skills
•    Self-driven individual with the ability to work independently
•    Solid presentation and communication skills
•    Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain attention to detail
•    Strong ability to work in teams and build good relationships high degree of personal integrity, and work ethics
•    Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); Advanced Excel skills with formulas and pivot tables a plus
