General Summary
The Office of the University Ombuds provides support to students, faculty, staff and general OU shareholders, working within the tents of leadership, structure, enfranchisement and compassion. This office is confidential, impartial, and neutral to cases presented. The office handles formal complaints via the web link and other various duties assigned by the Chief of Staff, President or Provost of OU.
Major Duties
- Light clerical work such as maintaining records, sorting mail, filling out appeal paperwork, scanning documents, booking appointments.
- Communicating with clients on the phone, via office email and occasional walk-in traffic.
- Support and direct work on long-term projects related to academia area to the office or assigned by the Offices of the Chief of Staff, President and Provost
- Creating and engineering the physical and digital presence of this office and helping our office look for new ways to assist vulnerable students, faculty, staff and external shareholders
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student at OU in good standing
- The MSW, Counseling MS or PhD, and the SEHS Ed Leadership programs preferred
- Candidate must be prepared to work in a high-pressure environment with vulnerable clientele in various states of anxiety, depression, excitement or concern.
