Business & Finance Intern

Internship Overview:

This paid internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in writing and editorial skills within a dynamic news media company. The intern will be responsible for writing business and finance content on the 1440 Topics platform.


 

This internship will not be for school credit. 


 

Responsibilities

  • Drafting explainers on business and finance topics that live in our Business & Finance newsletter and on the 1440 Topics platform. Examples of past explainers include venture capital, US currency, the Federal Reserve, the creator economy, cryptocurrency, and more.
  • Curating the best resources on the internet to help people learn more about business and finance topics, from YouTube videos and podcasts, to in-depth long-form articles.
  • Mastering 1440’s CMS to give readers access to all of the above content.


 

You also bring the following:

  • A passion for growing their editorial career, whether that’s in journalism or some other part of the media industry.
  • An insatiable curiosity and identifies as a life-long learner.
  • Loves business and finance, reads the business section of major publications in their spare time, has a favorite business podcast, identifies as an aspiring personal finance expert.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 25 hours (up to 40), brings strong research and writing skills and a passion for helping others understand the world, previous writing, newsletter experience, or journalism experience nice but not required.


 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or Bachelors degree in progress from an accredited institution. 
  • Prior internship experience at a major publication [not required, but nice to have].
