Programs & Outreach Intern

PROGRAMS & OUTREACH INTERN 

The Programs & Outreach Intern will collaborate closely with the Programs Team on various aspects of program operations, including event planning, communications and outreach, and client interactions. This role will contribute to our Empower 360 mission by assisting in the execution of programs to effectively address and fulfill our clients' needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Programs Development: Assist staff in planning and executing Client Programming
  • Community Outreach: Assist in executing outreach strategies and engagement with our Community Partner Organizations; assisting in the development of outreach strategies and materials
  • Community Events: Assisting staff in scheduling and planning community events; attend community events as needed
  • Research: Identify gaps in our current Community Partners roster or resource connections, research potential partners and additional resources for clients
  • Client Interaction: Get to know our client base and be comfortable stepping into various volunteering roles
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client and community partner data and interactions in our CRM system (HubSpot).
  • Coordination: Support the Programs team with scheduling meetings, managing client and partner follow-ups, and coordinating between different departments.
  • Problem-Solving: Aid in resolving client issues and concerns by gathering information, escalating problems when necessary, and ensuring satisfactory resolution.
  • Learning: Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and other activities to gain a thorough understanding of program processes and best practices.

Basic Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled college student
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Previous experience working or volunteering with nonprofits
  • Ability to effectively organize and present information in group settings, both formal and informal
  • Ability to thrive in a high-paced work environment, while maintaining procedural and

ethical integrity

  • Ability to work a minimum of 12 hours per week
  • Must be able to work from our office in South Austin on Tuesdays/Thursdays between 9:30am- 4:00pm
    • Some weekday evenings and Saturday mornings may be requested for Programs or Community Outreach events (no more than once a month)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public speaking skills
  • Connections to other nonprofits or community resources in Central Texas
