Job Type: Part-Time (40%)

Schedule: Monday - Friday Schedule TBD

Pay:  $22,000 to $28,000

Pui Tak Christian School (PTCS) is a high-performing, faith-based school located in Chinatown, Chicago, IL. PTCS has been in operation for over 70 years, and we serve Preschool 3-year-old to 8th-grade students. PTCS seeks a growth-oriented and like-minded teacher to teach 5th-8th-grade math for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year.  


 

Job Description

A PTCS teacher is part of a team working to equip young learners to become future leaders for God’s Kingdom. Our teachers take responsibility for the high academic achievement and character development of every child in their classroom. Teachers are responsible for guiding and assisting students in their entire learning experience.


 

Job Responsibilities

  • Teaching responsibilities will include delivering 10 math lessons, each lasting 45 minutes, per week.
  • Demonstrates outstanding classroom and behavioral management that relies on positive reinforcement with high expectations, clear and consistent classroom systems and procedures.
  • The teacher is responsible for writing and implementing lessons that are engaging and effective according to student data.
  • Creates and maintains positive and collaborative relationships with families through consistent communication.
  • Assesses and evaluates student growth. Develop a plan on a class-wide, group-wide, and individual basis in response to student data. 
  • Demonstrates dedication and determination for student growth and success that is measurable.
  • Attend all schoolwide events on weeknights and weekends
  • Provide students with opportunities to grow and lead by offering feedback and coaching that fosters the development of the next generation of Christian leaders.
  • Shepherd students under your care. Maintain a godly character both within and outside the classroom, build positive relationships with students, engage in intentional conversations and activities, and discipline students in a manner that honors God.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education
  • Teaching experience in an urban school setting (preferred)
  • Valid IL State Teaching Certification
