Police Recruit and Lateral Police Officer

The City of Garland is currently accepting applications to test for the position of Police Recruit/Police Lateral. Accept the challenge for a lifelong career of public service! Starting salary is $82,482, with the possibility of higher salary based on experience. The position offers great health and retirement benefits. Minimum Qualifications at least Age 18 and one of the following:

• 60 semester hours of credit from an accredited college or university

• Two years' active duty in the United States military with an honorable discharge, plus a high school diploma or GED

• Two years of service as a full-time paid peace officer, plus a high school diploma or GED

• At least two years of continuous work experience in any job for a local, state, or federal government employer.
