Position Summary
Under the supervision of the department manager and as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Physical Therapist:
- Assesses, plans, and implements individualized treatment programs
- Works to restore physical function, reduce pain, and prevent disability
- Provides patient and family education
- Participates in discharge planning and care coordination
- Maintains accurate documentation per department standards
- Supports quality improvement initiatives
- Engages in ongoing professional development
Key Responsibilities
Patient Examination & Assessment:
- Perform thorough examinations using appropriate testing and instrumentation
- Identify patient needs and develop functional, measurable treatment goals
Treatment Planning & Intervention:
- Implement safe and effective interventions
- Promote strong patient engagement and adherence
- Reassess progress and adjust plans as needed
Documentation & Productivity:
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records
- Meet productivity standards and complete daily statistics
Collaboration & Education:
- Work closely with interdisciplinary team members
- Participate in continuing education and share knowledge with peers
Qualifications
Education:
- BS in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
Licensure:
- Active Massachusetts PT license or candidate for licensure (by examination only)
Certifications:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
- Effective communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to assess, plan, and deliver individualized therapy
- Knowledge of PT theory, methods, and equipment
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and uphold safety standards
Experience:
- No minimum experience required; new grads encouraged to apply!
