Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is seeking outpatient Physical Therapists for our Lexington, Burlington and Danvers locations.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the department manager and as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Physical Therapist:

  • Assesses, plans, and implements individualized treatment programs
  • Works to restore physical function, reduce pain, and prevent disability
  • Provides patient and family education
  • Participates in discharge planning and care coordination
  • Maintains accurate documentation per department standards
  • Supports quality improvement initiatives
  • Engages in ongoing professional development

Key Responsibilities

Patient Examination & Assessment:

  • Perform thorough examinations using appropriate testing and instrumentation
  • Identify patient needs and develop functional, measurable treatment goals

Treatment Planning & Intervention:

  • Implement safe and effective interventions
  • Promote strong patient engagement and adherence
  • Reassess progress and adjust plans as needed

Documentation & Productivity:

  • Maintain complete and accurate medical records
  • Meet productivity standards and complete daily statistics

Collaboration & Education:

  • Work closely with interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in continuing education and share knowledge with peers

Qualifications

Education:

  • BS in Physical Therapy from an accredited program

Licensure:

  • Active Massachusetts PT license or candidate for licensure (by examination only)

Certifications:

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
  • Effective communication (written and verbal)
  • Ability to assess, plan, and deliver individualized therapy
  • Knowledge of PT theory, methods, and equipment
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and uphold safety standards

Experience:

  • No minimum experience required; new grads encouraged to apply!
