Product Security Intern
This is a 12 week internship program beginning on May 26th 2026 or June 22nd 2026
Location: Onsite 5 day's a week at Headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA

As a Product Security Intern, you’ll work closely with our Product Security team to strengthen the security posture of Illumio’s products through hands-on technical work and automation. You’ll gain exposure to real-world security challenges and contribute to building scalable, proactive security solutions that support our mission to stop breaches before they happen.

What You'll Do:
Security Tooling & Automation: Build and maintain scripts and tools to automate vulnerability detection, triage, and remediation
Vulnerability Management: Assist in analyzing and prioritizing vulnerabilities from internal scans, penetration tests, and bug bounty reports
Secure Code Review: Participate in manual and automated reviews to identify and mitigate security flaws in our codebase
Security Research: Investigate emerging threats, attack vectors, and mitigation strategies relevant to our technology stack
Knowledge Base Development: Create and maintain internal documentation, including threat models, remediation guides, and best practices
Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and promote secure coding practices
What You'll Bring:
Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science with relevant coursework in cybersecurity and an expected graduation date in Winter 2026/Spring 2027
Experience with Python, Java, Go, or C++
Familiarity with security tools such as SAST, DAST, dependency scanners, and container security platforms
Understanding of common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and secure coding principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
