Application Technician
TOPTICA Photonics is seeking a skilled Application Technician to join its Americas office in Rochester, New York. This hands-on role is essential in demonstrating and validating the performance of TOPTICA’s advanced laser systems across key markets such as interferometry, holography, semiconductor inspection, biophotonics, and microscopy.
The technician will work closely with application scientists, sales teams, academic collaborators, and customers to design, execute, and support application-specific laser experiments—either in TOPTICA’s Applications Lab or at customer sites. They will also contribute to technical documentation and represent TOPTICA at trade shows and industry events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute high-quality laser system demos tailored to customer needs
- Design and build experiments in collaboration with internal teams and partners
- Support customers during implementation and provide technical expertise
- Create application notes, whitepapers, and contribute to publications
- Present TOPTICA products at conferences and trade shows
- Travel to company headquarters in Munich for product and training immersion
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with lasers and optics in lab environments
- Background in one or more areas: interferometry, holography, biophotonics, or microscopy
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
- Strong project management and computer skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn and grow
