Personal Support Instructor
Job Summary:
The Personal Support Instructor (PSI) provides daily care and behavioral support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The PSI helps individuals achieve greater self-sufficiency through structured routines, goal-based activities, and hands-on support aligned with each person’s Individual Support Plan (ISP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily living tasks and household responsibilities
- Implement ISP goals and behavior strategies
- Support community participation and recreational activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
- Attend required training and agency meetings
- Administer medications and document in Medication Administration Record
- Provide 24-hour emergency support as needed
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment
- Communicate attendance issues or emergencies to supervisors
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Clean driving record, valid CA Driver’s License, and current auto insurance
- Reliable vehicle to be able to transport
- 1–4 years experience in direct support preferred
- Background check required
- Strong documentation and time management skills
