MAINTENANCE STAFF
Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
The maintenance staff is responsible for maintaining the GENEVA facilities in good condition so that the program can function as well as possible without distraction. Specific tasks include the following:
- Clean the bathhouse at GENEVA Shores twice each day—a thorough cleaning in the morning, and a second cleaning of floors and counters following the afternoon pool closing—and regularly check paper supply throughout
- Sweep and spot-mop dining hall following each meal, giving a thorough mopping once a day
- Empty all trash containers at least twice per week
- Sweep the floor of the Activity and Recreation Center daily, and scrub with the cleaning machine weekly, removing any marks on the flooring
- Set up and take down the chairs for the program closing activities in the ARC and Pines dining hall
- Sweep walks, entry hill, entrance to bike path, and other public entry areas at least three times per week, and more frequently as needed
- Assist in mowing and trimming grass as needed throughout camp
- Maintain all camp vehicles in clean condition and washing exteriors and cleaning windows as needed.
- Assist in directing traffic and parking at camp arrivals and departures for each camp session
- Other tasks as assigned
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend all meetings as required of staff (orientation, daily, weekly)
- Work to create a positive spiritual atmosphere throughout camp
- Assist other program staff in carrying out the weekly program as able and needed (helping with songs and skits, celebration, or other camp activities)
- Be aware of camper behavioral needs, encouraging positive involvement and addressing negative behaviors, reporting concerns to leadership
- Function as a full member of the summer staff, participating in activities, building relationships, and carrying out the ministry of GENEVA throughout the summer
