Job Description
Qualifications: 1. At least 18 years of age
2. Possess Lifeguard Certification
3. Commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the supervision of all water activities at Camp Geneva
- Maintain ratios at the pool and beach of lifeguard certified staff and aquatic observers to campers
- Be responsible for opening, closing and enforcement of rules of waterfront areas
- See that buddy checks are done in accordance with state regulations
- Test all campers for swimming ability at beginning of camp session
2. Oversee safe use of Wibits, rope swing, blob, zipline, watercraft, and land based challenge elements
a. Lead cabin groups through initiatives and small group process
3. Report all equipment needs or damages to waterfront or challenge equipment
4. Maintain beach and pool areas i.e. cleaning beach, checking ropes and buoys, cleaning pool deck, and checking/maintaining chemical levels in the pool
5. Notify the Waterfront Director of any incidents, injuries, or accidents
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Work to create a positive spiritual atmosphere throughout camp
2. Be ready to guide a camper in their relationship with Christ
3. Attend pre-camp orientation, staff meetings, and drills
4. Build community and understanding among all staff members
5. Be prepared to address behavior needs of campers
6. Follow daily routine and encourage campers to do so
