Summer Staff- Day Camp Counselor

DAY CAMP COUNSELOR

Job Description

Qualifications:                1.  At least 18 years of age

                                               2.  Be at least 1 year out from high school graduation

                                               3.  Commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord

Primary Responsibilities:

1.  Responsible for care and supervision of campers assigned to them and for the general welfare of all campers

2.   Involved in all aspects of camping program 

3.   Assist in up-front leadership as needed

4.   Provide leadership for group time and other activities 

5.   Lead small group Bible study

6.   Develop ideas, games skits, etc., for the overall program

7.   Participate in Shores or Pines program during evenings with assigned cabin group, sleeping in cabin at night

Additional Staff Responsibilities:

1.    Attend all meetings and trainings as required of staff

2.    Work to create a positive spiritual atmosphere throughout camp

3.    Be aware of camper behavioral needs, encouraging positive involvement and addressing negative behaviors, reporting concerns to leadership

4.    Report all equipment and facility needs and maintenance requests

5.    Function as a full member of the summer staff, participating in activities, building      relationships, carrying out the ministry of GENEVA throughout the summer
